Kaamos sits next to the clock - a sun or moon in the menu bar. Auto moves from daylight through golden hour into night. Optional location sets real sunrise and sunset for where you are, including polar day and kaamos.
The colour pad runs from firelight to daylight, and down into deep red for dark adaptation. On this page you can drag it, scroll to dim, and watch the screen warm — the Mac app does the same with display gamma.
Turn it off whenever you want. Open at login if you don’t.
Who makes Kaamos
Kaamos is built by áddet - an independent studio founded by Dominik T. in Helsinki, Finland in 2016. In Northern Sámi, áddet means “to understand.” For us that means tools and objects where daily life, research, cinematography, and software meet.
Our street-level studio within Helsinki’s design district, in the beautiful seaside neighbourhood of Ullanlinna, known for its lively Art Nouveau architecture.
