Requirements

Kaamos needs a modern Mac with macOS 14 or later.

Install and open

• Install Kaamos from the Mac App Store.
• Launch Kaamos from Applications (or Launchpad). A sun or moon icon appears in the menu bar next to the clock.
• Click the icon to turn tint on, follow the sun, or set colour by hand.

Permissions

Location is optional. Enable Use location only if you want Auto to use real sunrise and sunset. You can change this later in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Redownload

Redownload Kaamos from your Mac App Store purchases on any Mac signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

App Store purchases follow Apple’s refund policies - request a refund through Apple. See also Terms of Sale.

Common issues

• No menu bar icon. Check Applications for Kaamos, open it once, and look under the clock. On newer macOS, menu bar icons can sit behind the notch - try Control Center or System Settings → Control Center → Menu Bar Only.
• Screen does not change colour. Open the menu and confirm the master switch is on. If Auto is on, wait for evening, or move the colour pad.
• Location denied. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → enable Kaamos, then turn Use location off and on in the panel.
